Cigar Lighters

Last time we flew, they took my DH's cigar lighter (called it a torch - it was one of those volcano ones) when we tried to carry it on. They also took a bic which I had in checked luggage along with matches. Are there any available on board - we are sailing Glory on Saturday - or should I just try to take a cheap one again?

Best to get some wooden matches for those fine smokes, while you're cigar shopping.

looking at the website above we can't take wooden matches, wonder if they'll have some on the ship? If he can't have his lighter, he'd prefer wooden. I hate that it is so restrictive on the airlines. I understand the security, but I lost a pair of good nail clippers to them because I forgot to remove them from my purse! Oh well...

DH was able to buy a lighter aboard Victory. Even had a ship design on the side!

I don't know anything about cigar lighters, but I always take my Bic lighter in my purse when I cruise or fly. Never had a problem.

We bought some bic's at Walmart & should be set!

On a cruise last summer, I took a Colibri torch and had no problems and did not think twice. It was in the checked bags for the flight and in our carryon for cruise. I kept it in the cigar case.

Torch type lighters have since been banned, from what I understand... Bic type lighters are still okay....

The one they took in Vegas was a Calibri (sp?) torch. He was not too happy about it! Anyway, I got the bic's and he said he'd get some matches or something there :rolleyes:
