searlie Posted May 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2010 Hi, Does anybody know what you are able to purchase with onboard credits? Is it for spa, shopping, types of things only? Or can you use the credit towards drinks? How about photos? Thanks for any help! :)
aoverbeek Posted May 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2010 As far as I know every thing onboard you will use your NCL card to pay for on board the ship (as OBC is a credit on that card)
SeaShark Posted May 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2010 That is correct. It is a credit toward your onboard account...you don't actually "use" it to buy things. If it goes against your shipboard account, the OBC can be used to "pay" for it.
Mrs. H. Posted May 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2010 OBC reduces the amount you owe at the end of the cruise by the amount you were given. :D:D

Caribbean_Dreamer37 Posted May 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2010 Great thread. I was wondering about this question too, and decided to look for threads on the topic.
terrymtex01 Posted May 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 18, 2010 The only (*) I want to put on this thread is to be sure and check if you are planning on using OBC to get cash in the casino. Almost all OBC can be used for withdrawing cash from the casino cashier, however there are a few OBC's that will not work for that. If anyone had plans to use OBC to get cash at the casino cashier, I would check with the front desk first. I wish I could give you an example of ones that you cannot do that with but I can't think of them at the moment, but I do know they are there, few and far between as they maybe. 8-)

I booked my trip way back in December for an August cruise through a TA.

You can receive it as part of a special being offered when you book, it can be a bon voyage gift from friends or family, we received some from our travel agent as a bon voyage gift, you can pre-purchase it yourself if that helps you budget your vacation ... in other words, lots of ways. Mrs. H. Posted May 20, 2010 #12 Share Posted May 20, 2010 I've been meaning to sign up for NCL's credit card. Wonder if they are still offering $100 OBC.
