Ramrac Posted May 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2010 I have reservations for David's on Wednesday night, and when I spoke to someone at Carnival they said you should dress like you would on a formal night or even nicer if you want.
Tbay-eh Posted May 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2010 Can you tell me if jackets are required at David's on non formal/elegant nights? Jackets are recommended but NOT required. My husband and son wore nice dress shirts, ties (because I begged) and dress pants and were the norm. Jackets and suits/tuxes are nice to see but what ever makes you comfortable. We fly from Canada so really watch our weight so out went the suits and jackets.
rkacruiser Posted May 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2010 The dress for the Steakhouses is the same as the dress code for the entire ship. If it is a non-elegant evening, slacks and a nice shirt is sufficient.
n2knight Posted May 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2010 Can you tell me if jackets are required at David's on non formal/elegant nights? Got off the Carnival Pride a few weeks back and enjoyed the wonderful dinner at David's (non formal night) We were on the upper level (try to request that if you can - great views) From the other patrons I saw, I would say most men had on a tie, shirt, and slacks. Maybe 20% had a jacket. Only saw one couple where he had a tux and she had an evening gown. Main thing is just go and enjoy yourself!
*Mach* Posted May 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2010 As others have said jackets are not required for men on non-elegant evenings. In fact, I've never seen anyone turned away for not wearing a jacket on elegant evenings as the dress code is the same as for main dining. Regardless, DO go the the steakhouse... I've been many times and it's a wonderful experience. :)
