Sunday in Nassau. . .

Can anyone tell me whether the shops in Nassau are open on Sunday? We're on the Majesty (3-day) this weekend, and it stops there on Sunday. (I think DH is HOPING they're closed - less shopping!!)

We were in Nassau on Sunday, and many of the shops were indeed closed. But some of the larger shops, jewelry shops and the entire Straw Market were open.

One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday in port is to find a church of my denomination and attend a service. Many of my favorite cruise memories are centered around these services. I got to meet some of the locals - not as a tourist but as a fellow member of their denomination. The folks in Nassau are among the friendliest I have ever encountered. I hope you have a great day.

I was in Nassau last month and most shops were open until 3:00!

We were there on Easter Sunday and there were lots of shops open for a few hours mid-day. Many were not open and some of the ones that were, closed early afternoon.
