deucbmac Posted May 20, 2010 Author #101 Share Posted May 20, 2010 ooops....How did that get there!!! Oh...I know, We saw the Francis Scott Key Bridge up ahead and decided to head to the very top by my Funnel!!! We figured we would stay there just to make sure that the Pride fit under the bridge. I would say it looked really tight!

deucbmac Posted May 20, 2010 Author #107 Share Posted May 20, 2010 It was at this time about 6:30 or so and we were begining to get hungry. We had signed up for the anytime dining which was great. You could plan your meal easy around the night shows and activities, or if you were in port late and wanted to eat later it worked perfectly. Since the first night on the ship was Cruise Casual dress for dinner, we decided to head down to the Normandie Dining Room. We had to go to the 2nd floor of the dining room which was on Deck 3, the Atlantic Deck. We hopped on on of the elevators and down we went. Some of the Elevator Decor The ceiling in the Normandie Dining Room Now, with the Dining Your Time, you can have a different waiter every night or if you find one you like you can stick with that one and ask for them everytime. wone3 Posted May 20, 2010 #110 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Great review thus far..... about 3 months from today and my family will be enjoying her hospitality for our first cruise. Those with the sooner cruises coming up...let us know about the power strip deal. I'm planning one in good shape as I'll need it to charge cameras, laptop and external drive to save all of our pics and videos. Any review is great for those of us planning but especially the Mark's and Carrie's have been pretty good for planning!

joanne h Posted May 20, 2010 #112 Share Posted May 20, 2010 we leave this sunday and can't wait! We are driving in from pittsburgh and was wondering about how long it took to drive to the port? Keep the review coming! It's great! i too was wondering the same thing. I was planning on during the night before and staying somewhere but i am wondering now if i can leave the morning of and still be ok. All tho i am going next jan, so i am a little worried about weather
joanne h Posted May 20, 2010 #113 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Really enjoying your review and the pictures. I live in the pittsburgh also and we were thinking about driving in to baltimore the night before our cruise(jan 16th 2011) and staying somewhere that offers parking and a shuttle. Do you think we would be ok to just drive in the day of our cruise? How long would you say it would take? I am a little worried being that it will be in january, with the weather and all. Whats you opinion about this? Thanks . Loving your review great job!!!
KeywestK Posted May 20, 2010 #114 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Wow, this review is just getting better and better! The food porn photos just put me over the edge....:D We also have Your Time Dining on Pride in October, and want to know if we have dinner early the first night, say at 6:00, will we be finished in time to get back upstairs to see the ship sail under the Bay Bridges in Annapolis? If not, we'll be eating very late that night, because seeing those bridges are a top priority for us Marylanders.....;):)

Whats you opinion about this? Thanks . Loving your review great job!!! Weather in Baltimore can be very changeable very quickly--especially during the winter snow/ice season. For your peace of mind, I recommend that you plan to drive here and arrive the day before you sail. Last winter we had awful weather here and there were horror stories of people trying to get to the ship they day they were sailing. That's an awful way to start a cruise vacation! peppermintpatty Posted May 20, 2010 #119 Share Posted May 20, 2010 That was actually a parking lot for something else. Here This was the parking lot after we were on the boat for a bout an hour. It was never full. Our cruise was supposed to leave originally at 5:30, but the was changed to 4:30. We didn't actually set sail though until 5:20. Yes, Maxwell School is still there. I actually grew up right down the hill from it. That is cool. I lived on Crestridge Drive which was right across the highway.

Rare richstowe Posted May 20, 2010 #122 Share Posted May 20, 2010 I am so loving this review. We are looking at going on the Pride in March 2011. We live in South Jersey so this would be an easy jaunt for us. We've sailed from Maimi, Ft. Lauderdale and Pt. Canaveral but airfare is really cutting into our trip money. We would save so much that we can now give to the casino and bar. Keep the pictures coming it's really hyping me up. So agree .Saving the airfare is why we are driving from Montreal to take this cruise.Only worried about weather since we are going on Jan/02/11. We are hoping that even if the weather is crummy there will be enough to do (and eat and drink)that bad weather will not spoil our fun. We will use the saved money on shore excursions. I have read in this posting and others that the stay and park free deals are the way to go. The names i have seen are STAY123.com and PARKSLEEPFLY.COM .Seem to be legit. Great post!!!! going2cruz Posted May 20, 2010 #123 Share Posted May 20, 2010 After leaving the Library/Internet Cafe, We walked out into the hallway on the Atlantic Deck. It was so elegant and amazing. We walked around a little more and came across the chapel which had closed doors with a Private Function sign up. Our guess was a wedding, seeing that we've done that before on the ship!! We also came across an awesome fountain with a pair of stairs going down each side. We later found out the stair went to the Promenade Deck, Deck 2. We then turned around and found one of our soon to be hang outs. The Ivory Bar. wow was on in August and I never saw the Sunset Garden.
