Island Style Fishing/Whale watching

Has anyone recently gone whale watching with Sheinel of Island Style Fishing? What was included in your tour? We have been quoted a rate of $50pp for a 3 hour tour at 8:45am, a little early for me. They require a deposit of 20%. Do you think it is safe to give a deposit this far out? Our cruise is not until January 30th. ....Or are there any whale watching guides at the port when we get off the ship?

Hi Lorey,

We went whale watching with Island Style Fishing On April 16, 2010. Capt. Jerry is an experience and knowledgeable captain; we had a blast with him. In fact we had such a good time that I have booked another charter for this November. The price that has been quoted to you is the rate we paid and YES "There Be Whales."

Yes, see above post.

What was included in your tour?

I believe we had beer, water and local fruits. I only had one beer; too busy taking photos and looking for whales to surface. Also we had several schools of dolphins escorting the boat.

That's what we paid. The ships excursion asks for $65.00 and you have a bunch of other folks that you don't know in your boat.

I see no problems. Capt. Jerry is well recomended by others also.

The good thing by going with Capt. Jerry/Island Style Fishing is that he will bring the boat to you and return you back to the pier. Just get off the ship walk down 30 yards and you will see the boat there waiting for you.

Capt. Jerry was so nice that he let me put a line in the water and ten minutes later I hooked up a Wahoo (fish) around 30 -35 pounds.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your response. Are Capt Jerry and Sheinel the same person or is Sheinel just someone that works for Island Style? Should I request Capt Jerry? Do you know how many the boat holds and is it like the one shown on the website.

Thanks, Lorey
