Victoria Restaurants?

Recommended Posts

On your other post in the Alaska forum, several folks (including myself) have suggested the Benal Lounge in the Empress Hotel for their curry buffet. Just wanted to let you know that casual clothing is okay for this Lounge.

We have a very short stop in Victoria I think maybe 4 hours. can anyone reccomend a good restaurant near the dock. No chains please and price is not much of a problem. Casual is a must. Thanks.

For view, it would hard to beat Milestones (small west coast chain), right on the inner harbour.

Nothing is really 'near' the dock, but downtown is about a mile away and there are a ton of restaurants. Was there a specific type of food you were looking for ?

We are into steak, seafood kind of thing. We also like pub fare etc. Thanks for the response.

Actually "the Keg" downtown has a pretty decent view (from the west windows) of the harbour and good steaks/seafood.

If you're looking for local charm, Barb's Fish and Chips is ultra casual and only 4-5 blocks from the cruise terminal. You'll sit outside and eat at picnic benches, but among Victoria's best F&C.

What about Irish Times pub on Government street??? We have been there a few times and the food has always been good. That said, Milestones is a never fail for good food and services, cheap prices but it's a shame about the view:D

Bengal lounge curry buffet is excellent but no view but the ambieance of the lounge is steller :) The martinis are great.

It is fun to feed the seals at Fisherman's wharf after eating at Barb's but am not sure if they (the seals) are out after 5???
