Weather on Trans Atlantic Crossing Rome - Miami November

Big Question :) HAHA

I know weather is unpredictable. Based on your past cruise's what temperatures can one expect maybe? Not holding you to any of this..... trying to figure out what to bring clothing wise and or purchase. How much deck time might one have and so on. Some one on here said the first few days to Spain were cooler how cool temperature range and after that very pleasant what does this translate to mean? When I reserved with Azamara via the phone the gale I talked to said a fellow agent at Azamara was on the cruise last year and her husband was on deck most days in shorts. Any help with this is appreciated.

Thanks,

HSB, I think the TAs description of shorts is very poor from them and the issue of what is good weather is subjective. I am from Scotland and am used to rain/wind/snow etc.....so if you want an expert on what poor weather really is, you know where I am! You may experience "freak" weather and the sun may shine, but Atlantic weather in November is generally awful. Sorry to have to be the one to tell you this. You will not need factor 50 sunscreen.:(

Usually Spain to Italy will reach mid 60s, and maybe 70s if you go as far as cyprus and greece. The usual is 50s> 60s.

Take a warm sweater + brolly just in case. Look at this excellent review to give you an idea of the trans-atlantic part of the trip.

Not sure where you dock in Spain, but if you want advice let me know. We have a house there and have travelled extensivly in Spain.

Hi Hugh,

We did the TA from Barcelona to Miami this past Dec. It was quite cool in Barcelona, but warmer in Alicante. We were able to be quite comfortable in summer clothing and maybe a sweater, at times. I do think my DH wore shorts a good bit of the time. We were able to be up on the deck - reading and relaxing. It was quite breezy at times, but laying down in the chairs, it was fine. There were plenty of deck blankets and I was quite comfortable with one of those over me while reading. You will fall in love with those thickly padded loungers on the deck - very comfortable!

I would say the average temps were in the upper 60's - low 70's. Warmer in the Med area. - between Alicante and Gibralter.

Hope this helps! :)

last december....warm, cool, breezy, windy, calm, slightly rough, huge thunder storm on cococay. shorts ok most mid days...cool at night. generally very nice....but few in the pools most days....many burnt folks (haven't they read...skin cancer!) lying in the sun by the pool out of the breeze.

have a great trip....just remember weather happens!;)

It's the time of year when the weather really could be all over the place!!!

I would pack a pair of shorts AND a rain jacket!!!

More than likely high 60's to low 70;s

but there;s the unseasonal heat wave or the surprising cold front...

A little story...though not the same itinerary

One cruise I did to Alaska in May it was in 40-60 degrees all the way north the whole ship was dressed in parkas sipping hot chocolate

we had a sea day and then we hit Juneau...

They had a freak heatwave and it was 82 degrees...

from that moment forward..I make it a point to pack for those unexpected extremes!
