blondi_21 Posted May 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2010 Do you pay for the pools too or just the food and alcohol at the restaurants/bar? How bout the chairs on the beach?

eh24fan Posted May 22, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2010 We were just there at the beginning of the month. The chairs on the beach and the pool at Margaritaville are free. My 3 yr old and I started on the beach then moved to the pool while my husband and 9 1/2 yr old were on the dune buggy tour with my parents. Margaritaville was perfect for us...we grabbed chairs right next to the pool where there was a ledge to sit on in the water. Then when he was thirsty, we just waded under the bridge and over to the swim up bar. Yup, I sat my 3 yr old son on a bar stool in the Margaritaville pool and ordered him a virgin daquiri. LOL BTW, the drinks are $$ and our's weren't even good. We both had the strawberry daquiri's..mine with rum, his without. The rum comes in a test tube that they stick in the drink, you have to mix it yourself, soooo, that just made the yucky mix melt, which made for a yuckier drink. He sucked his down though, so I guess he liked his smoothie. With the auto gratuity it was $17 for our 2 drinks though!! Also, it is my understanding that the entertainment and crowd can get a bit raunchier as the day goes on at Margaritaville. We left around 330pm to get back onboard and get ready for dinner though, so I don't know firsthand. We were in port until 7pm but had first seating for dinner and didn't want to miss it so our entire group made sure to be back early.
sprockie Posted May 22, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2010 It is a wonderful day at Margaritaville. The pool is only about 3.5 feet deep throughout and it's huge. Yes, the drinks are very expensive. My husband bought himself a Pina Colada in a trumpet like plastic glass with a beeker of rum in it for the low low price of $17.oo.
Asil65 Posted May 23, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2010 The scene can definitely get raunchy. When we were there 3 years ago there was a wet t shirt contest. Not sure I would want my kids seeing that.

sparky-elpaso Posted May 23, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 23, 2010 It's a nice spot to relax. We each had a burger (and fries) and Coke - $38 :o But the burgers were huge with more fries than we could finish. Refills of Coke were extra so that added up.
