For those who are planning to get Wyndham Day Passes, be aware that the hotel and casino will be closed from Aug 23 - Oct 5, 2010.

The hotel, casino, pool, bar, tiki bar and beach will all be unavailable.

Sheraton should be open and day passes available.

Hello, I will be in Nassau in January, my husband has to ride a motorized scooter, we would like to get a taxi to the Wyndham for the day. Is there any transportation that would be able to take his motorized scooter, it is small and will break down into 3 pieces. There will be 6 of us.

Thank you,

Bargainlady

Most cabs are vans these days. If your hubby can get into the van, the scooter can be lifted into the back. You would need to be responsible for assembly and disassebly.. and the driver would probably expect your group to do the heavy lifting. (most of these guys are quite elderly and out of shape).

Scubagirl,

We are coming for a Nassau visit next weekend and are looking for some information on bringing/buying alcohol. Have heard that the prices are really high to buy especially at the resorts. Have also read that you can't bring much in without being taxed. Would like to bring some in suitcase and buy more if we need it. Beer/wine is what we drink. We are staying at Wyndham Cable Beach on President's Day Weekend. Would appreciate your help. Anything close to the resort to stop and buy it on the way or if we needed more go and buy it.

thanks,

Mike

You can bring 2 bottles of wine tax free. A case of beer, or any part of it, is taxed at $18 per case. I advise against it.

Most alcohol is cheap. Wine is available in most liguor stores.. ask your driver to stop on the way from the airport.. it'll only cost you a few extra bucks for the stop. Lots of liguor stores.. even one inside the hotel.

Thank you Scubagirl for the response. How much is beer then at the liquor stores if you buy it there? Sounds like it wouldn't be worth it to buy it here and then pay import tax of 18 on it. Any store on the way to Wyndham that you would suggest us to stop at? would like to also stop at the grocery store for some snack type foods.
