cruznluvr3 Posted May 28, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2010 does anyone know if cash is used for the laundrette, arcade or the casino on the paradise? Is there anything else that might require cash once on board? We depart in 4 days so a quick reply would be appreciated. Also are the laundry facilities on every deck? Thanks in advance

smd1234 Posted May 28, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2010 You can use your S&S card in the casino, but I wouldn't recommend it...it adds up quickly!
emelvee Posted May 28, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2010 You can use your S&S card in the casino, but I wouldn't recommend it...it adds up quickly! You "withdraw" funds with your S&S card; they give you cash at the cashier, which you can then use at tables. I know this used to be a fee-free way to get cash, but I'm pretty sure they charge a 3% fee to get cash on your S&S card now.
seashinesunshine Posted May 28, 2010 #5 Share Posted May 28, 2010 Quarters for the laundry, but you can get them from the pursers desk. I was told that there is laundry on each deck one at each end, but I never looked for it. I just used the one close to us.

cruisin07family Posted May 28, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 28, 2010 I agree that Ports is the biggest cash hog. Are you taking excursions thru the cruiseline? If yes, there could be cash still needed for tipping, drinking, eating, souvenirs, etc. If you aren't taking excursions thru the cruiseline, you may need quite a bit more for cabs, entrances to beaches, beach chairs, etc.

Tradestock Posted May 28, 2010 #11 Share Posted May 28, 2010 I know the OP was asking about ship cash, so this is slightly off topic but might be helpful. As mentioned above, ports require some cash. We usually take small bills, $1 and $5, because we learned on our first cruise that some merchants in ports do not have change. Much easier to walk away from change from a $1, than a $20. marshhawk Posted May 28, 2010 #12 Share Posted May 28, 2010 The laundry is 3.00...quarters...dryer 3.00 quarters, tips, two to three dollars for room service delivery...we also always leave our waiters and extra 20 a piece, and the steward 20.00. That is in addition to whatever Carnival pays them off our 10.00 a day. Then we figure out what we need to tip for services off the ship, tours, 10.00 a person. Some say we are crazy, it's just that after working in the hotel and entertainment industry, those tips are so appreciated. What ever happened to paper clothes, wear and toss, instead of wear and wash.
