Aplmac Posted May 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2010 is there a beach area we can go to on the day we will be in st. vincent. everything we've read only talks about boat trips, and we were really hoping to just relax on a beach somewhere. Best beach/es close to the Port are in the Indian Bay and Villa region- opposite Young Isl. which is about 200 yds. offshore, thus making it scenic as well. Here's a view of the area from the plane, flying in! That's Young Isl. in the foreground, with the 'bullet' of Ft.Duvernet to the left to it. The beaches I speak of are on the mainland side of this area. Don't expect sweet beaches on the scale of Antigua,St.Martin, Barbados.. ;) Like Dominica (and St.Lucia, somewhat) St.Vincent isn't much of a beach island, okay? . Aplmac Posted August 12, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2010 can you walk to it and how long would it take:confused: Sure you can walk it. Up hill and down dale, once you know where to go -around and past the airport much of that being half the length of the airstrip,doubled.. i.e. up one side and down the other Take you about an hour, but it might feel like two in the heat and humidity. You should probably consider a taxi, though. Get you there in ten minutes -and you'll arrive feeling a lot more human! :) .
