SmokinActuary Posted May 31, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2010 How difficult is it to get a taxi from the train station back to the port in Livorno? Thanks in advance!
euro cruiser Posted May 31, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2010 It depends on the day and the time. In the height of the summer season, at the end of the day, it can be very difficult. The best advice is to step lively when your train arrives and be one of the first to the taxi stand. Make note of exactly where it is when you pass through the station in the morning. We did not do this, and there were no taxis left last July by the time we got to the stand. Others on our ship told us that more cabs eventually came and they made it back in time, but we were concerned and took the public bus to the shuttle bus pickup area, and got a cab from there. Thanks euro-cruiser! Word has it that you are an excellent source of information for Naples. Could you email me at klineshubby@yahoo.com if you are willing to answer some detailed questions for me? Much obliged, SA
