Lauraall Posted June 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2010 I have spent the last several weeks reading reviews, and looking over the site for info on 5 day cruises to the carribean. I have got a lot of info but unfortantely it seems it has only confused me more. I have done 3 cruises to the Mexican Riveria and want to make the jump to a Caribbean cruise. I should tell you I love snorkeling and beautiful beaches. I don't drink so that is not a advantage to me (though it doesn't bother me if others do). Here are several choices I am looking at ... I can only do 5 days (or my dream cruises would be available). I am just getting my feet wet. Carnival Destiny- Leave Miami Grand Turk Half Moon Cay Nassau Bahama's Carnival Inspiration-Leave Tampa Grand Cayman Cozumel, Mexico Or suggest another option. I just need a little help! alabamaprincess Posted June 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2010 The Inspiration to Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Better snorkeling and beaches.
FlaGrl4Evr Posted June 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 1, 2010 If you decide on the Inspiration out of Tampa and could possibly squeeze in a day-pre cruise, Here is a wonderful hotel on St.Pete Bch that offers one of the best beaches around along with many activities. It would be a great way to start off your cruise. The hotel is all suites and with AAA a Bermuda Studio Suite is only around $100 per night. www.aldenbeachresort.com St.Pete Bch is apx 8-10 miles from Tampa airport and mostly interstate the entire way. It is very easy to get to. The beach is white sand and just beautiful. This is where we stay twice per year when visiting the area and where we will stay prior to our upcoming cruise. Good luck and have a wonderful time. Cari & Rick :)
runner15km Posted June 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Inspiration to Cozumel and Grand Cayman also. Plus the great shore snorkeling at Eden Rock or Sunset House in Grand Cayman. After snorkeling take taxi to Royal Palms on 7 mile beach.
goldenk Posted June 1, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2010 Last year Grand Caymen was the highlight using a great excursion that I found to bring me snorkeling and to sting ray city. So we're taking the exact same cruise. Tampa has a great port also. I'm close to Port Canaveral, but seem to wind up in Tampa everytime (Well if the Dream went to GC I'd probably be on that one to check it out). deej696 Posted June 2, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 2, 2010 Since you are considering the Destiny, if waiting for their 5 day Western is an option I would go that way. I only say this because we only sail with balconies, and I dont believe the Inspiration has any...
chachi Posted June 2, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 2, 2010 I would go on Destiny because there are 3 port days. I prefer port days to sea days. I also think the Eastern beaches are prettier, but I have never been to Grand Turk.
Lauraall Posted June 2, 2010 Author #8 Share Posted June 2, 2010 Keep the replies coming. I am torn because I like a 3 port itinerary but her good things about the other beaches. Help!

taylor6400 Posted June 2, 2010 #10 Share Posted June 2, 2010 I debated the same...and chose Destiny because of Half Moon cay...Sept 20 cruise. The reviews of HMC are all great. I cant wait. Good luck with your decision...probably cant go wrong either way you choose!
yogimax Posted June 2, 2010 #11 Share Posted June 2, 2010 Half Moon Cay is a very nice beach day, but Cozumel is a neat port for walking and shopping. Which do you prefer?
Lauraall Posted June 3, 2010 Author #12 Share Posted June 3, 2010 I am most interested in a nice beach with good snorkeling.
ItsAllAboutTheSass Posted June 3, 2010 #13 Share Posted June 3, 2010 HMC is an awesome beach and Grand Turk has world class snorkeling.
Froufie Posted June 3, 2010 #14 Share Posted June 3, 2010 I chose the 5 day Destiny mainly because of HMC - need a fix of that lovely beach! (the other 2 ports are just 'bonus' :D)
truchattycathy Posted June 3, 2010 #15 Share Posted June 3, 2010 I would pick the Inspiration because I love both Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
gone_cruisin Posted June 4, 2010 #16 Share Posted June 4, 2010 Inpsiration. Grand Cayman and Cozumel have some of the best snorkeling (without going Southern Caribbean). Both these ports are also some of the safest places to just roam without many worries.
