Oriana Dining

Purples

Recommended Posts

The main dining rooms, Peninsula and Oriental, are open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The self service restaurant(Conservatory) is open continuously from early morning to about 5pm when they do a childrens tea, and in the evening it opens with a themed buffet (i.e Chinese, Indian, Italian etc) until about 9:30. The Al Fresco is open 24 hours for snacks, pizzas etc.

Envelopes will be left in your cabin for tips with a recommended guide, which is £1.50 for the cabin steward and £1.60 for the restaurant waiters, per person per day. Drinks waiters receive a commission on their sales so there is no need to tip them unless you have a favorite barman.

Oriana has the wonderful Gary Rhodes restaurant 'Oriana Rhodes' we dined there twice (once a week trying menu A and then B) And it was superb, even better than Arcadian Rhodes, and thats pretty good too. This is a supplement restaurant (around £15pp) but well worth the extra. And a chance for a table for 2 .

Have a look at the 'A' and B' menus outside the restaurant, they rotate every 4 days and if you fancy it book on embarkation day foir the night you want.

Also, another place to eat at lunchtime on a sea day is 'Tiffanys' bar next to Oriana Rhodes, it is quieter being a relaxed bar and every day they have a menu outside with light lunches which we found idea, for example on this day it was poached salmon salad and bannoffee pie, (there were 2-3 choices on the menu). We found it a excellent place ,

It is only the Peninsular Restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, on Oriana.

Al Fresco is open most of the day but closes for around half an hour before lunch, before evening meals, and again before late snacks, to allow then to prepare and lay out the next type of meal.

Tiffanys, we found the menu very limited.

Oriana Rhodes is worth the supplement but not the Terrace bar, in our opinion.

For the themed Indian evening in The Conservatory you will need to book with you main drning room table water as it is so popular. All other themed buffet evenings are anytime dining.
