Does anyone know the artists/songs for the Karaoke contest that gets you in the show?? Really want to practice and be on the show for 40th birthday.

I assume you are talking about the Legends Show.

 

I have been in it 7 times and it was a BLAST.

 

There are only 4 female parts :

 

Aretha Franklin "Respect"

Gloria Estefan "Rhythm is Gonna Get You"

Brittney Spears "Hit Me Baby One More Time"

Madonna " Like a Virgin"

 

The key can not be altered....

 

Once you are selected...

 

Carnival allows you to borrow an MP3 player (don't lose it for it will cost you about $275.00) and will provide you the lyrics so that you can practice.

 

You will have one run through with your dance partner (they teach you a few moves) and then they fit you for your costume.

 

You get a free DVD of the show and a group photo...

Yes....there are 6 male parts and 4 females parts.

 

And yes, due to copyright laws, Carnival had to purchase the rights to use these 10 songs.

 

We are hoping at the end of that contract, they will take out Brittney Spears and add a real Legend like Tina Turner.

 

Her rendition of Proud Mary would bring the house down....

 

Unlike the "talent show" (down on ships that don't have the Legend Show)...you must do one of the 10 parts and those particular songs to be in the show. The talent show is where you can sing whatever you want.

But you also have to be selected by the audience in the actual audition period. So you may go up against several people, unless you have a huge crew with you on board... However, you really need to read your "capers" or "fun times" as I hear it is called now, because certain nights they audition certain stars, so if your style is Garth Brooks, then there is only one night of auditions for those, and it is usually late in the evening.
