Day trip from Rome to Agnone

We would like to take a day trip from Rome to Agnone and back...(world famous makers of the Vatican bells), as our ancestors come from there....

 

Anyone know the best way to do this?

Wow - this is one of those "you can't get there from here" questions.

 

The nearest train stations to Agnone are pretty far away, Iseria (about 35 km) or Vasto (about 40 km).

 

Given the difficulty of doing this by public transit, I'd say your best bet is to rent a car and drive it. By car it should be about three hours each way, a long day trip, but quite do-able, especially if you're motivated.
