Going on the Southern Carib. from San Juan. first port is Caracao. When the ship leaves San Juan does it go west or East around the Island before turning south?

Thanks

I can't guarantee it, but we always see the cruise ships going out to the east. I assume they all do.

I don't know the answer to your question, but if you go to the cruise line's website and look at the itinerary for your cruise they sometimes show a map with the approx. path the ship will take. That could tell you. If not, perhaps share the name of the cruise line and ship so that someone who's sailed it before can respond.

To Curacao, they typically go west and cross from the Atlantic to the Caribbean Sea through the Mona Canal (between PR and the Dominican Republic).

The Mona Canal can be pretty rough sometimes. If too rough, then they go east.
