swimmer722 Posted February 5, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2005 We are driving to Galveston from Houston on 3/12. What time have people been able to start boarding the Grand? We are thinking of getting there around 11:00. We want to make sure we miss all the people who are disembarking. We have people dropping us off so we don't have to worry about parking. Any advice would be appreciated.
39august Posted February 5, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2005 We recently arrived at the pier at 11:20 and were on board by 11:50. You are fortunate that people are dropping you off, but they are not so lucky! The traffic is horrendous.
spongerob Posted February 5, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2005 I'd say wait until about 12:30. By then, the disembarking passengers should be cleared out. We were still waiting for our shuttle at 11:00 when we disembarked, and traffic was a total mess in the terminal area.
grahamfairbank Posted February 6, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2005 We showed up about 1030, when the disembarcation was still running strong.... Got right on, it was a pleasure, to think that we could have started our vacation 4 or 5 hours later seems ridiculous now. get settled in your room, find your bearings around the ship before it gets crowded. have fun! TXSailor Posted February 6, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2005 swimmer722: We arrived at the terminal at 1:30pm. and it was a breeze checking in and boarding. It must have taken us less than 15 minutes to board the ship. We still had time to eat in the Horizon Court prior to the muster drill.
