Rare pierces Posted April 18, 2011 Author #703 Share Posted April 18, 2011 Hi Zackiedawg ~ Great pic of sleeping kitty on couch. Question: What does "wide open" mean? ty, jj Set at maximum aperture of f/1.8. Here's an article I did that covers the "trinity" of exposure; aperture, shutter and ISO: http://pptphoto.com/ArticlePages/LowLight.htm Dave
zackiedawg Posted April 19, 2011 #704 Share Posted April 19, 2011 Bingo - Dave's covered it. Sorry, I sometimes forget how camera-lingoistic I can be, and forget sometimes to explain such terms for those who may not be familiar.

judynorth Posted April 21, 2011 #708 Share Posted April 21, 2011 (edited) Judy, I love the last pic! Thanks! Do you think it could be called a garden escapee? I just love columbine. I have many more pictures from the day on Picasa (link below). We try to get to Williamsburg at the peak of the spring flower season. This is Garden Week so it was the perfect time. In the winter we have a tall waterfall, eagles, thousands of snow geese, swans and dunlins. In the spring we have our tulips and turtles and great blue herons. In the summer, the mountains are easily accessible. In the fall, we do have have some colors and a hot air balloon festival. All this is less than 3 hours away. Of course, the challenge is to find a sunny day and grab a camera and make the most of it!
