I believe passenger manifests must go to TSA 72 hours before sailing. This would be for cruises out of US ports. Rules may be different for foriegn ports.

I'm not sure about 48 hours, but I can definitely say 72 hours since I did it.

In the good old days I booked a cruise the same day (with Carnival) and that was back before they took credit cards for direct bookings (I believe the early 1980s). They said just drop a check in the mail before heading to the airport. Funny.

Well we booked one within 24 on the Emerald last year so...:p

 

Usually it is minimum 72 hours for DHS not TSA.
