redangel2560 Posted July 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2010 My husband and I are going on Stuart's Cove snorkeling excursion in Nassau. Are we expected to tip the guides and if so how much? Thanks in advance!
Gonzo70 Posted July 3, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2010 On excursions such as that I typically tip $5 per person for decent service; less or zero if the guides were uninspired and more if they provided an outstanding experience.
cb at sea Posted July 3, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2010 It's not expected.....if you do think they deserve a tip (if they go above and beyond what you paid for), then $10 for your party is ample.

Do you only tip your waiters at a restaurant if they go over and above what you paid for? It absolutely is expected. Strange, you seem to be in favor of tipping longshoremen who are earning near six figure salaries for handling your luggage for five to ten seconds, but seem reluctant to tip people who depend on tips to earn a living wage who provide you with hours of service. This is our standard practice also.
