CruisinloversfromTexas Posted July 7, 2010 Author #26 Share Posted July 7, 2010 We chose to do the Salsa and Salsa excursion primarily because if I can get served free margaritas and food....I am there! They had us meet in the lounge and then took us to the resort in vans. Once we arrived at the lovely resort this great blonde lady greeted us, escorted us to the patio where we were handed a margarita! Yaaaa!! and then escorted to our table where our chefs hat and aprons awaited us... here is Steve...the Mexican Chef... and of course me! I know, I know, I look like Lucy..ok...people have told me that! my margarita... us....
Wavesprite Posted July 7, 2010 #27 Share Posted July 7, 2010 I'm happy to hear about bargaining for the pictures at Aquaventura. We're going in October and booked off the ship. Was Steve able to bargain for the taxi ride back too? Was it still $7 and did the park call for a taxi for you?
CruisinloversfromTexas Posted July 7, 2010 Author #28 Share Posted July 7, 2010 Now, the first thing they taught us was how to make genuine margaritas and they gave us TWO shots of tequila..one was sweet and one was not... Now, after we did that, we were going to learn to make a STRAWBERRY MARGARITA...the dancing chef ladies (the ones running the thing) asked who was on their honeymoon??? OH....let me tell you I raised my hand so quick because I had been waiting all week to be able to do something like this, (I really wanted to be on the newlywedd game on the ship but somehow missed that) but oh well...I quickly raised my hand and they called us up there to help instruct the class! as you can see, I am ALWAYS ready for a camera and Steve is still trying to figure out what the hell we are doing up there! Here we are.... Boy was that margarita good too!!! After that, we sat back down and now are going to learn how to make genuine guacamole.... Here is Steve doing the work while I am sipping margaritas...oh and taking pictures of course!

CruisinloversfromTexas Posted July 7, 2010 Author #30 Share Posted July 7, 2010 Well, after the guacomole we learned how to do like three kinds of salsa...I was pretty buzzed by then, and so, no pics of the salsa.! But we learned how to actuall salsa dance after that and Steve and I were picked as the best dance couple! The excursion was over and we were put back on our bus and transported back to the terminal...... We had so much time to kill that we really did not want to go back directly on the ship so we decided to stop at the bar and have a few drinks...here we are doing a jello shot in honor of our marriage! We did not go into the ocean because the jellyfish warning was high and we prefer not to get stung...so...back to the ship...we got dressed for dinner and then went to watch karaoke and then went to bed. We never made it to the dance clubs. They were playing alot of Michael Jackson videos and no one was dancing. NEXT CABO SAN LUCAS............. Cabo is so shallow that they tender us in...here are some tender boats waiting for us... We arrived...

CruisinloversfromTexas Posted July 7, 2010 Author #36 Share Posted July 7, 2010 Ok, so our sea tour was over and we were loaded on chartered buses and driven to a private resort where we were given lunch and two drinks, either beer or soda or water. The lunch was great! It was at a place called Baha Cantina...I think...anyway....this was our "beach" tour but because of the jellyfish...no getting in the water....but here is a picture of Steve about as far as we wanted to go... The beach was packed. With tourists....panhandlers....and because they had several bars on the beach...tons of waiters.....so...you would not go thirsty. After this hour we were boarded back on our bus and taken to go SHOPPING!!!!............ in the mall.........yeah.......needless to say.....we did not like that.....we wanted the open market shopping which is what we thought we would get. But, our tour guide quickly reminded us that the company he works for Tropical Tours, was contracted by Carnival and that Carnival sets up the tour not them! note to self...write Carnival. Oh well, we found some tshirts for the kids...got back on our bus to head back to the terminal because we had to be back on the ship by 2:30....and to our surprise...EVERYONE obeyed the rule and therefore the line through immagration and the tenders was long. It took about an hour to get through the line.....but....the ship did not leave us! Our tablemates standing in line... me in line... so that was it for the ports....we got through this line and boarded our ship and watched as we left Cabo for our journey back home...boooo...our honeymoon trip was coming to an end...... Was Steve able to bargain for the taxi ride back too? Was it still $7 and did the park call for a taxi for you? No, you are kinda stuck with one taxi company so yes, we had to pay $20 to get back....once you exit the park, they have a guy there who will get the taxi for you but like I say, one company...no bargaining power... MzOhioLady Posted July 7, 2010 #47 Share Posted July 7, 2010 I Love This Review! Thanks for taking the time to write it. I have a question for you. Was the Jellyfish Warning at every port you went to? Were you able to get in the water at any of the ports? I'm looking forward to going in the water and having a beach day at, at least 2 of the ports. I hope that won't be a problem in September!
