anthsmom Posted July 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2010 I have been reading reviews and have read so many positives about Weeee Jimmy. I just looked at our sailing dates and we have Jen Baxter. Anyone ever have Jen before? Good? Bad? Anything? Thanks so much!
carncruiser1964 Posted July 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2010 My husband & I went on the Legend last August and had Jen as our CD. We thought she was great although, prior to our sailing I had read that her voice was annoying. We did not think that at all. Please read my review where it talks more about her with pictures. We're going on the Legend again in September and are sad that she will not be our CD again. Michele
clearwatergirl Posted July 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2010 I have been reading reviews and have read so many positives about Weeee Jimmy. I just looked at our sailing dates and we have Jen Baxter. Anyone ever have Jen before? Good? Bad? Anything? Thanks so much! We've sailed with Jen twice. She's very nice and very English. One must get used to her voice. Kinda raspy. She's quite energetic and loves her job. You will all be doing the "Jen" wave, like the Queen, by the end of the trip. That's her "branding" if you will. You will also learn how to tune her out doing announcements every morning. Ugg, drove us a little nuts. BTW, she wears a lot of glitter for on stage time so beware, you don't want any of that on you. You will have a marvelous time on the Legend. The CD has nothing to do with how much fun you'll have. You make the cruise. Do as much as you want or as little. Have a great cruise. :D

Michele Thanks for posting such an informative review. Loved it! I know it was a year ago and some things have slightly changed but your review have the butterflies in my tummy going again with excitement. Your Col. Klink is cute and including him in your adventures sounds fun. The hubs and I spend alot of time at the Hard Rock Tampa and I am sure we will spend alot of time at the casino as well. I am so looking forward to cruising on her soon! Thanks again! ;)

It will be a blast regardless. FUN FUN FUN! :)

Grating voice, just makes for a painful cruise. (BTW have sailed with her twice, am hoping she is not on Legend when we are there in December.) okwriter Posted July 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted July 12, 2010 Where do you find out who the cruise director will be on a certain sailing date?
islandwannabee Posted July 12, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 12, 2010 I have sailed with her 4 times and each time it gets a little worse. I just don't care for her and each and every cruise, she told exactly the same jokes, word for word. I cruise alot so usually do hear repeat jokes, but most of the time they at least change up a word or 2, not her. Oh and that voice:(. Of course this is only my opinion. anthsmom Posted July 13, 2010 Author #10 Share Posted July 13, 2010 Good thing is that we have never heard the jokes before and like the OP said the hubby and I will make the cruise fun regardless. We are looking forward to being on the Legend for the first time. Hmmmmm..maybe after enough drinks I will be able to tune the voice out  OKWRITER here is the link with the CD schedule for you. SkyMaster Posted July 13, 2010 #14 Share Posted July 13, 2010 I've sailed with Jen a number of times, and frankly, I LIKE HER! Yes, she does tell the same stories over and over,,,but if you had her job, I doubt that you'd come up with new material for each cruise. Jen does her job very well, in my opinion, and especially if you haven't sailed with her before you'll enjoy her. She's accessible, and if you have a question, or problem, you can find her, unlike lots of the other C.D.'s. Have a GREAT cruise. (Doing the "Queens Wave" now.) :D "SKY"

Have you ever just gone to Channellside to have lunch on a Sunday to watch the Legend sail away? We do that sometimes. Col. Klink was created when we got married on the Spirit. It was so much fun carrying him around and bringing him to dinner that we kept bringing him on every cruise since. We do get some strange looks, especially when people see that there is a "face" on the glass. It's fun. Too bad we're not booked on the same cruise. Pretty close though. Michele Hi Michele, Yes we are about 20 minutes from the Hard Rock so we frequently visit. Fresh Harvest for crab legs or we hit the sushi bar then downstairs to play! I am hooked on HOT SHOTS (love the sound of the machine!) and I noticed that your hubby won on that one from your review. YAY - go him! I am excited knowing they have hot shots (even though its a penny machine) I also love to play the quick hit slots. On cruises we enjoy playing some roulette (dont know much about the other card games). As you know there is no roulette at the Hard Rock. Which I don't know why:confused: We do go to Channelside sometimes but I can't sit there and watch without being sad that I am not sailing away. :( On the brighter side, I sometimes have to travel to one of our properties right on the other side of the Skyway and would try to time my drive across when the Inspiration was going under...this happens more so right before our cruise when I get ants in my pants and can't wait to board! As we are coming home...you are setting sail. We get back on the 5th. How fun to meet new people with common casino interest haha! We have meet some pretty neat couples on our past cruises. Oh, you know how so many people on these boards say to others getting on the ship after them that they "promise to leave the ship in great shape" or "I'll take care of her for you", etc. I gotta tell you that I would totally be lying if I said I will leave you $$$ in the casino  Kidding....but truth be known I think there is plenty of $$$ for all of us to come home winners! :p

Definately our favorites too! It may have been a penny slot but that penny slot paid my hubby over $1400! Nice hit! We're really looking forward to going on the Legend again. It was so much fun last year. We've kept in touch with some of the casino staff (which are not on that ship any longer) and they have given us some names of the people that are on now. We really enjoy playing 3 card poker. $100 can last us all night long and we have alot of fun. That's gonna be funny that you'll be getting off and we'll be getting on the same day. We'll have to compare notes when we get back. ;)
