NCL Gem - Scenic Agios Nicolaos tour in Crete

We just returned from the Gem on July 10th. We are a family of 3 who opted for this more relaxing type of excursion. After 2 weeks of historical sites and ruins, we decided that a scenic tour might be nice. At promptly 7:00 AM, our bus was ready to roll. We had a wonderful tour guide that explained the history of Crete and also took questions on our way back to the ship. The tour included a short stop at Elounda beach, a seaside village that included a pleasant photo stop and a rest stop for refreshments or restrooms. After 45 minutes, we boarded our bus and continued to Agios Nicolaos. This is a lovely seaside village with shops and cafes situated along a small lake. We realy enjoyed this tour, but wish we had at least another 2 hours added. The tour seemed a little rushed because the tours had to be back at the port by 11:15 AM.

Thanks for your feedback. It sounds nice and relaxing, especially with the short time in port. A couple of questions...

How long were you at agios nicolas?

What time where you able to get off the ship since you were on the bus by 7am?

How many people did the tour accommodate?

Thanks!

Thinking back, we were at Elounda Beach from 8:20 to 8:50. We continued a short drive to Agios Nikolaos and stayed from approx. 9:15 to 10:15. Since it's a good one hour ride, in either direction, our time at both places was cut short. If we had another two hours, it would be perfect. Both places had nice waterfronts to just stroll, take pictures or enjoy a coffee or other beverage. If you choose this excursion, you won't be dissappointed. The bus ride alone showed beautiful scenery and great information from the tour guide. This tour holds as many people as it can get. This tour had 2 buses that morning. We had to meet for the tour at 6:50 AM and were on the bus at 7:05. They don't delay.
