ParrotHead79 Posted July 16, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2010 We were in a Junior Suite on LOS in January and loved it. basically 1 1/2 times the size of a regular balcony stateroom. We were on the top deck of staterooms, so no-one else was above us. Mid-ship also. It was a long walk to and from some places, but not bad. The JS had a walk in closet, king size bed, pull out couch and a chair/ottoman. The bathroom had a bathtub, which was great. You'll love it! Went to Chops, well worth the extra money. rubrrick Posted July 16, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2010 Also interested in Chops and Portofino restaurants. Menu, quality etc. Thanks You will find the Liberty of the Seas suites to be the same as the Freedom, and actually many Voyager class ships. What is it that you are looking for.......exactly??? We have traveled in RS's, OS's, GS's and a few JS's. Is your question about service, space, amenities, special needs..........or what?? If you could be a little more specific, I would bet many of us could help answer your questions. Rick

Bluegirl Posted July 16, 2010 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2010 What to say? We were in an OS on the Liberty in January. It was the most fantastic thing ever. HUGE, lovely, lonnnnnng balcony with two loungers, table for four and four chairs. We ate in our room from the MDR and generally felt completely spoiled and happy. The four of us fit nicely and we never felt crowded (with two young ones who tire easily in the sea and sun, one of whom still naps, we spend a lot more time in our cabin than the average passenger). We board the Liberty in two days again - this time in a D1. But this time for two whole weeks!
carkosh Posted July 16, 2010 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2010 We were in an OS on Liberty also, a couple of years ago. Bluegirl described the balcony very well. We also loved the bathroom....2 sinks, tub (for me), separate shower (for DH). Very nice size for 2. (The bathroom & balcony are the main reasons that we generally book an OS.) Bedroom with large TV, mirrored vanity, separated from living area by curtain. Btw, the TV rotates between bedroom & living area. Very nice living area with 2 section sofa, bar & glasses (not sure why as you can't bring your own liquor onboard), table for 4, plenty of room to dine in, if that's what you want to do. Large amount of storage; the 2 of us couldn't use it all (& we bring alot :); 4 people would have no trouble finding storage space. Those in suites also invited to bridge for Captain's Party; not sure they're doing that anymore; this did not happen on the 3 other cruises we've been on since altho they did give a party for suites in a chosen lounge. The Concierge Lounge is lovely; we used it alot. Hope this answers some of your questions. Chops is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. We always eat there at least once. Love Portofino's also, especially the desserts! Carol
jdkt18 Posted July 16, 2010 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2010 Also interested in Chops and Portofino restaurants. Menu, quality etc. Thanks Just off LOS July 4th! We had a GS connecting to a D1. Hubby and I had the GS, while sister and son had the D1. LOVED LOVED LOVED the GS. Even if it were 3 of us in the GS, wouldn't need any larger! 2 loungers and table for 2 on balcony. EXCELLENT bathroom. 2 sinks, tub/shower, hotel quality! couch 2 chairs, coffee table sitting area, bar area large closest! Special privileges with the GS, used every single one of them! Portofino/Chops - nice but didn't live up to the hipe! Was expecting way nicer then MDR but only found same quality of food, just smaller atmosphere. 39august Posted July 16, 2010 #8 Share Posted July 16, 2010 nanfromatlanta - Thanks for the menus. I have seen Portofino menus recently that did NOT include the eggplant roulade or the gorganzola salad, two of my favorites. And some folks have posted that the pasta dishes are now under "entrees", so they couldn't order these as a separate course. I do hope "old" menu is stilll on LOS for my Sept. cruise. gabbyisadog Posted July 16, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted July 16, 2010 Thanks for the information. Menu's look good. I had interest in space, service and ammenties since this is a large ship and I usually am on much smaller ones. Appreciate the help.
