A bit confused about the rates

Oceanview Stateroom (6B) Oceanview 248.60 USD

Oceanview Stateroom (6C) Oceanview 257.40 USD

Ocean View Guarantee (OV) Oceanview 275.00 USD

Oceanview Stateroom (6D) Oceanview 275.00 USD

Oceanview Stateroom (6E) Oceanview 283.80 USD

Oceanview Stateroom (6A) Oceanview 292.60 USD

I don't get it. Isn't 6A supposed to be cheaper than 6B? If you are booking the OV rate, are you gambling with the fact that they can give you 6B or 6C?

Can I ask questions about an online TA on this forum?

Carnival's pricing can be baffling.

A 6B can be cheaper than a 6A depending on what rate it is based on. Early saver, past guest, 1,2,3...and so on and so on....

As for asking about a TA, saying there name or company here it is a no no.....

Just a question....What cruise is that for?

This is for the Paradise that sails on Feb 21st. The prices this company offers are lower than the ES rate. The terms seem to be the same as the ES rate.

they could have a group going and group rates.

They could be cutting commission to get you to book with them

either of the above could be why a better price.

I have found some confusion related to pricing as it depends on how many will be in the room also. For instance, on CCL site, a cruise for 4 people in 1 room shows as:

Guests 1 & 2 (price each) = $319 ($638)

Guests 3 & 4 (price each) = $139 ($278)

Total =$916

On some on-line sites this same room would show as:

Price per person = $229 (x4 = $916)

The $229 looks like a much better/cheaper deal but ultimately 'grinds' out to be the same total cost.

Hope that makes sense to you. I have had a good experience booking directly with a Carnival Personal Vacation Planner (PVP). I research ahead of time and when ready to book contact the PVP (with the CCL website up while I'm talking to the PVP).

Bottom line when comparing anything....need to make sure you are doing apple to apple comparison. Otherwise you get a big batch of fruit salad!!:D
