musclehead Posted February 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2005 I'm looking for a decent hotel in the Miami (or surrounding) area with a fairly low-rate for one night. We're staying in Miami the night of the 26th in preparation for a cruise leaving on the 27th and want to make the easiest transition from our airport (Ft Lauderdale) to a Miami-area hotel and then from the hotel to the port on Sunday. Thank you!
steve819 Posted February 9, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2005 Look at the Holiday Inn - Bayside. We've stayed there several times and found it clean, comfortable, and relatively inexpensive if booked online. It's on Biscayne Blvd right across the street from Bayside Marketplace and the Port of Miami. Ask for a room facing the harbor. It's great to look out the window in the morning and see your ship waiting for you. Steve

Mrsdeedee Posted February 9, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2005 It's called the Holiday Inn Port Of Miami. I plan on staying there in November for my post cruise. Alot of people also reccomend the Hyatt in downtown Miami as well.
peggisue Posted February 9, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2005 We are also staying at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami in April. Will the hotel take us to the pier or do we need to take a cab? There are 12 of us in our party, and just wondering if we need to book some type of shuttle service? Also, what time do you suggest leaving from the HI to the pier? phlydude Posted February 9, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2005 www.holiday-inn.com Also, if you go to hotwire.com and reference the amenity list with biddingfun.com you might be able to get a hotel such as the Sheraton Biscayne for under $75 or the Intercontinental for $100 or so... You will need to get cabs. The fare is approx. $7 for 3-4 people and if you request it, you might be able to get a van to hold more. A shuttle might run you considerably more and have a required length of time to purchase when the pier is 5 minutes away.
