Diamond Princess - Couple of questions

Two unrelated questions:

 

How much does it cost to do laundry on the Diamond Princess? Does the laundry come back to you the next day?

 

Also, with Anytime Dining, do you have to eat with your roommate? What if you want to eat at different times/places?

 

I know we'll find all this out soon enough - we sail in two weeks - but I'm starting to obsess over details.. any help you can offer is appreciated!

I have found that sending out the laundry on Princess costs about as much as it does at home. If you sail in a suite, the laundry is free, which is a nice perk.

 

They also have self-service machines onboard which are $1 for wash and $1 for dry.

 

The maître d’ will probably assume that you want to dine with your roomate and will probably book you at the same table if you have traditional dining. If you have anytime dining - you can eat when you want at the buffet, specialty restaurant or dining room as you see fit. They also have wonderful hamburgers and pizza.

 

If you are scheduled for traditional and don't want to eat with your roomate just go see the maître d’ or call the dine hotline and asked to be moved to a different table - or to anytime dining.

You can have your laundry back in a day but it costs 25% more. I know that a number of things such as dry-cleaning are less expensive then shore based cleaning...laundry is about the same, maybe just a tad less.

With anytime dining, you can eat with whoever you decide at any time you decide, you do not have to dine with your room mate, that is totally our decision.

Shirt $3.00 (launder)

T-shirts $2.25 (launder)

Pants $4.50 (cleaning)

Dress $8.50 (cleaning)

 

Same day service (presto) is 50% more and must be in before 9 AM.

Next day service also says in before 9 AM.

 

However, may come back earlier than promised if they are not too busy.
