westwingjazz Posted July 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2010 RCCL has partnered with Johnny Rockets in order to provide guests with an alternative option. Who would you suggest CCL partner with in order to provide an alternative dining option? I will go first....I would love to see CCL partner with Five Guys as a dining option. Your turn, suggest two or three....

tef43 Posted July 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted July 26, 2010 Why, so Carnival can introduce "extra charge" dining above and beyond the steakhouse? No thanks. Leave that scam to Royal Crapibbean.

PA Dutchman Posted July 26, 2010 #11 Share Posted July 26, 2010 Carnival has a "make it your way" now and we don't have to put a name on it to pay $5.00 extra. With RCI your choice for a hamberger is one in water or pay $5 extra.
truchattycathy Posted July 26, 2010 #12 Share Posted July 26, 2010 Sonic . . . although parking might be a problem. LOL I like this. Reminds me of my Galveston vacation and every afternoon we would go to Sonic for "happy hour" and get our 1/2 price drinks and sit and look at the ocean from our parking spot. Wouldn't that be great on the ship? But seriously, I wouldn't pay extra when there is so much free food already on board.
hazeleyez3 Posted July 26, 2010 #13 Share Posted July 26, 2010 There is already a MDR, buffet with "add-ons" like the Mongolian Grill, Asian Station, and the standard grill that gives you made-to-order sandwiches, as well as the steakhouse. I don't think a hamburger joint needs to be added when you can get the same things in the MDR at lunch or in the buffet. Part of the attraction with Johnny Rockets is that it is a theme restaurant with crew members who dress-up in the 50s style and sometimes start singing

And besides, they'll probably not offer the peanuts:(
Molly BPOE Posted July 26, 2010 #16 Share Posted July 26, 2010 I can get 5 Guys at home, yes they are good, but the FREE burgers on Carnival are just fine when I cruise. I would not pay extra for ANY food onboard..this includes the steakhouse.:o
f7prez Posted July 26, 2010 #17 Share Posted July 26, 2010 So far we've had more people complaining and showing how cheap they are, than those playing along and adding to the list. I like the idea of a Teppanyaki restaurant. If you don't want to pay extra for it fine, stand in the buffet line counting your pennies.

I like the idea of a Teppanyaki restaurant. If you don't want to pay extra for it fine, stand in the buffet line counting your pennies. I have to laugh at your assumption that just because some of us do not want to turn CCL into a twin of NCL or RCL that we are showing how "Cheep" we are. I am far from being "cheep" especially when I cruise but I find there are enough food venues to keep me happy and I like others will not pay $5.00 for a hamburger when I can get steak for free in the MDR. Can't speak for every one, but counting my pennies means I get to cruise more often...so I guess I am cheap. Works for me:D I just don't want one of the Carnival employees that read these boards to think this is a great idea and find something else to nickle and dime us with.

No I think it was because people didn't want to "pay extra" was what he was referring to;) But what people are missing is it would be a alternative.....a choice......an option......not mandatory...... So sure if it would benefit others......why not?
