Sargeant Cay's Snorkling and Manatee Research in Belize

Several friends and I are going to Belize on the Legend 10/17/10. Does anyone have a review of the excursion to Sargeant's Cay for snorkling and manatee research. One member of our group is handicapped and some mobility issues. How difficult is it to get off and on the snorkle boat? What interaction did you have with the manatees? Thanks for your help.

You may wish to go to the Belize threads in the Caribbean Ports of Call board and see if there are posts related to excursions to Sergeants Cay.

But it is literally just a sand bar. http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/72ab9/192465/

I don't see it as being all that "user" friendly for mobility impaired cruisers. But thatll depend upon the boat used. Climbing in and out of a boat for snorkeling can be difficult. But maybe someone else has had experience with the excursion.
