We will be on the 2 week cruise from Rome to Venice. This is a combination cruise so we have a full day in Rome mid trip. The transfer into the city is $220.00 with SB.Has anyone taken a cab into the city and about what was the cost?

Stefano at RomeCabs will pick you up and give you an excellent Rome tour with return to the ship but the cost will be similar. Check RomeCabs.com. We loved using him and consider him well worth the cost. Real door to door service in clean, comfortable Mercedes vans.

We have used Stefano's company 8 times in the last 5 years for transfers from the airport to our hotel and to the port and for private tours in and around Rome. He uses late model clean MB vans and sedans. His drivers have always been friendly English speaking gentlemen. Stefano himself took us for a lovely evening drive of the city after he picked us up from dinner one night at no additional charge.

With no bags to tote you can also take the train from the port area to the Termini station, there is an express train that takes about an hour for around 10 euro.

Thank you, we have used Rome cabs in the past and they are great. We just want to walk around Rome for a few hours and head back.We are lucky that we have been to Rome numerours times in the past so do not need a tour.Maybe time to try out that train ride.

I think the only issue to think about with respect to the train is can you deal with the luggage.
