Hepl with storage on Freedom

Recommended Posts

 We are a Girl Scout troop going on Freedom next June. With having to have an adult over 21 in each room and trying to save money, we have booked 4 inside rooms with 4 people in each room. I know it will be tight with space. The question I have is storage for clothes and bags. Each person is limited to one suitcase and one duffel bag. Any ideas how can we make room?:)

Put as much stuff under the bed as you can. You should be able to easily fit everything there. If you need extra space, put it in the closet. Worst case, you can put the duffle's at the foot of the bed.

The best thing that we pack to save space is an over the door organizer (with clear pockets) that we hang on the back of the bathroom door. We use all of the pockets for cosmetics, deodorant, lotion, etc. There is a hook on the back of the door that's ready for a hanger! Have a great cruise :)

Better limit each person to no larger than a medium suitcase and a small-med duffel. The suitcases will fit under the beds ok, but you will run out of drawer space. You may want to take a few extra hangers. You will probably have to operate out of the suitcases for the most part. Each person take a cloth laundry bag for the dirty clothes (walmart has em). Pack a bottle of Downy Wrinkle release spray. 1 bathroom. Talk to em about bathroom time...they aren't at home. everyone will have to be organized. more than 1 hairdryer at a time will blow the circuit. We had 2 girls in GS so we understand how these trips are....bless your heart! Great ship!! Have fun!

OK, I have always had 4 people in a stateroom, and recently, they have been pretty big kids. One suitcase per person is great, and one duffel bag. Each person gets one drawer for underwear, socks, belts, etc. Each person gets one shelf in the closet. Shoes on the floor, easy enough. Each person bring extra hangers, and you have a good amount of haning space.

Next, each person bring a plastic bag. Any clothes that do not fit, keep in the suitcase, and slide under the bed. In 2 or 3 days, slide the suitcase out, remove the remaining clean clothes, and place the dirty clothes, now found in each plastic bag into the suit case. By the end of the week, you will have plenty of space, and the dirty clothes will be tucked away under the bed.

As far as the shower, just set up rules, and make sure during peak times, like before dinner, everyone shares, after all, they are girl "scouts" and can rough it a little bit!!!

Tell them also, to pack everything in miniture. Like shampoo, toothpaste etc, get the travel tubes and bring them. Saves a ton of room in the bathroom.

The other thing to remember, is that kids adapt easy, and parents or chaperones will pull out their hair with worries. Honesty, the kids won't even be thinking about this, so you shouldn't either!!!!!!!
