dzboss1 Posted August 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2010 Thanks We live in FL children & grandchildren coming in from NY wanted to know what time to tell them to meet at ship I am so excited to get to the piers, so I am ALWAYS there early to watch people and chat with the staff (may be too early for most). We got there about 9:30am and had coffee and juice and just enjoyed being that much closer to the ship! You are all going to have a FABULOUS cruise!! Boo's Mom Posted August 1, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2010 One week ago, they started the process @ 11am. They took the suite pasengers first, and there was not very many of us, so Diamond/Diamond+ boarded next. Everyone else followed shortly after. This is the first ship I have ever been on where there were doors closed to the hallways.... so that we could not get to the rooms prior to 1 pm. I think it is good since they have many doors propped open at once doing the bedding changes and other things. You don't want people putting their stuff in their room in the middle of that, especially knowing they crew might prop the door open again. Also, for those on a back to back, you don't want two hundred passengers going passed your open door.
peteukmcr Posted August 1, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2010 This is the first ship I have ever been on where there were doors closed to the hallways.... so that we could not get to the rooms prior to 1 pm. On both our Freedom sailing in Sept 2009 and Adventure in May this year, the doors to the hallways did not open until 1 pm. Seems to be a fleetwide procedure.
