Sydney - How long of a taxi ride to the Fort?

We will be in Sydney September 23 with Crown Princess. We are debating whether or not to book "The Fortress Of Louisbourg National Historic Site" tour thru the cruise line for $59 p/person or rent a taxi to and from the Fort. We will be 3 adults. It looks like the admission to the Fort is $17 p/person.

I am wondering what the taxi would cost.

According to Google Maps, it is about 46 minutes.

Why not rent a car ? It's an easy drive and it's about $50 from Budget. That would be over $100 saving and you'd have the freedom to come and go as you please plus make a lunch stop if you'd like. We're on the Crown from QC-NYC and it made sense for us even with just the two of us. This way we can get there before the bus and spend some time exploring before the ship's tour arrives!

From what I've heard recently some cabs won't make trips out to Louisbourg. Renting a car is your best option, driving is very easy.

The $59 per person Princess excursion price for Louisburg does not sound so bad. The NCL price for the excursion to Louisburg starts at $84.
