caribtravel Posted August 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2010 We're flying into MCO 2 days before cruise. Can you suggest car rental companies with drop location at port? Also anyone know how much a cab would run on the way back to MCO from the port? thanks
Capt_BJ Posted August 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 2, 2010 close to the port Hertz, Budget, Avis, Thrifty, Dollar Taxi from Port Canaveral to MCO - over $100 ... it is about 50 miles; but that price is for everyone in the car....
caribtravel Posted August 3, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted August 3, 2010 Thanks. Probably cheaper to rent a car from port to MCO then.
grannyof9 Posted August 3, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2010 We have just gone through all of this for our trip in September. The cost to rent a car one way was very high (at least those that have drop off locations in the area). We bid on Priceline and got the car for the week for $119 that includes taxes and all charges (Avis compact, no port location). Then we were stuck with what to do with the car while on the Monarch. The cost for parking at the port is $60 for the four days and we're still ahead of the game. The hotels with park and cruise packages were a lot higher then regular rates. We got the International Palms for $47 total, pre-cruise through Easy Click Travel. We'll try and negotiate a price to park when we get there, if not we'll just park at the port. caribtravel Posted August 3, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted August 3, 2010 Avis does have a location on North Atlantic with free drop to the ship. We're going to return the car and just rent another after the cruise to take us to MCO...good luck
grannyof9 Posted August 4, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2010 Sorry, I had to look at my paperwork again, it is an Alamo car not Avis.
caribtravel Posted August 4, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted August 4, 2010 Sorry, I had to look at my paperwork again, it is an Alamo car not Avis. Try avis code AWD: k817163 (for 30% off) they bring you back to ship so worries about leaving rental in parking lot..Alamo code (i.D.7014136-25%) HOw are you getting back to MCO after cruise? Just went on their regular site and booked that way. This is for next March. We have used Budget twice and were pleased. They shuttle you to port and back ( about a 5 min drive )
