Liberty Comedy Club

Booked to sail 18th Sept on the Liberty and through this site have seen mention of a Comedy Club on board. I've tried searching to find out more info, but came up short. Anyone got any info about it or point me in the direction of any reviews? I'm not a big fan of the main theatre "song and dance" shows, but a Comedy Club might be just the ticket to keep out of the casino.

Thanks, Ben.

We saw this on the Glory in May and loved it.

Going on the Liberty in October and very happy they will have it also.

We have seen many of the production shows on Carnival and this gives us a very nice alternative.

Thanks Allie, that's just the sort of info I have been searching for.

I would guess there will be a lot of repetition, but understandable with so many passengers.

Still I'll keep my eye on the Fun Times newsletter for the different shows/acts.

Does anyone know if this now means they don't have a comedian perform in the main theatre?

I was on the Glory in January when it was being tested to see if it would work fleet wide. They had two PG shows a night and two adult shows a night. It goes five nights of the seven and there are a total of four comics that will do shows two on at a time.

The illusionist shows are to me boring as hell, so I could skip them. The production shows I tend to go to as the cast is different, but the show may be the same...I haven't seen those two shows ont he Liberty for more than two years, so I'll go...

PS, you on the the roll call yet for Sept 18th sailing?

I am, I posted there looking for suggestions for disembarkation day in Miami as we have an evening flight home.

I'll be on Liberty in a few weeks. I hope this will be set up by then. I kind of doubt it but I'll still hope. :)

Looking at the Liberty reviews today it appears to have opened in July on the Liberty.

It has opened on the Liberty some weeks ago.

We saw it on the Glory and the comedians did shows over 4 nights and 5 shows per night.

Two PG and three R rated but one of the Rated would be repeated each night.

Therefore you have 8 shows of new material over the four days.

Missed several production shows and an illusionist to see this and not sorry we did.

Just off of the Liberty and there were comedy shows 4 or 5 nights with 4 different comedians, offering a PG and R show. They flipped them around so that one did the early show and then the late show the next night. Some comedians were excellent, some so so.

Great!!!! Can you remember who are some of the excellent ones? I'll be on Liberty in less than 2 weeks now, so there is a good chance they will still be there.

Darren Sanders and Jim Brick were excellent. Try not to miss their "R" version. My husband and I also seen Carol Siskind and didn't care too much for her, there were a lot of people walking out. My son , 21, seen Kim Harrison and said she was so-so but he loved Jim Brick.

Darren Sanders was hysterical and I only saw the Jim Brick PG show and it was funny. I didn't really care for Kim and I didn't see Carol.

Excellent, some feedback about current comedians. Anyone else returning from the Liberty in the next few weeks perhaps you could update this thread with your reviews of the comedians.

Thanks, Ben.

They seem to be rotating them so what you see this week very likely will change the next week.

That is what I thought, that's why if this thread could pick up some different reviews over the weeks, it could build up a picture of the comedians not to miss and the comedians that aren't worth going out of your way to catch.

In fact perhaps it would be better to start a thread for comedy reviews from all the Carnival ships?

But you make like a comedian and I do not or vice versa so not sure if reviews would be worth much.

IMHO best to go see them and if you like them see the adult version.

Totally get that, and it is subjective, but sometimes things on board can clash timewise and a choice has to be made between which event/show to attend. If there is a clue it might help decide.

Very true. On our last cruise with our kids we had late seating and we had to make choices between comedy club and main shows several nights.

The next time we are back to early seating and hopefully the schedule will work out for us better than for late seating.

We also like karaoke and piano bar and just not enough time. In order to get decent seats for comedy find we must get to lounge at least a half hour before show time.

However it is great that we do have to make these choices.

We have late dinner seating as well and I also wondered if we may end up missing some stuff. Should've gone anytime I guess.

Great, I'll look forward to it.

Thanks, Ben.
