golfadj Posted August 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2010 Does anyone know if Carnival counts 12 day cruises as two cruises like RCCL does? I do believe that all cruises are counted as one including a two day cruise to nowhere.
DG2004 Posted August 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2010 pretty sure that a 12 day only counts as a single cruise
*Mach* Posted August 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 9, 2010 Any cruise, regardless of length, counts as one cruise toward Platinum status... :)
SmogMonster Posted August 9, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted August 9, 2010 ok, thanks for the quick answers. We had friends that did a RCCl 12 day cruise last year and got credit for 2 cruises. I wonder if Carnival would ever consider doing the same thing. Oh well, This is just another reason to take more cruises.:) Yeah!

Carnival has and continues to review the past guest programs and addressed this issue a few months back. At that time they elected to keep the system as it currently stands. It may change at some point but don't look for it soon. :)
golfadj Posted August 9, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2010 This is why some people will take short b2b cruises to get to platinum faster.
buddylover Posted August 10, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 10, 2010 This is why some people will take short b2b cruises to get to platinum faster. Which is exactly why we wish they would seriously look into this program. Lots of short b2b cruises can get one to platinum in say only 30-40 sea days, with much less money invested as compared to the cruisers who do 7-10 cruises and pay substantially more to do so. Not an equitable way of rewarding your higher money spending customers......and yes, we understand we too could take the shorter trips, but we live in midwest and need to fly to our destinations, taking extra travel time and hotel overnites etc......that would cost too. Just don't think Carnival is thinking clearly on this topic...this is one topic in which Carnival would be on the right "page" to follow their competition. yogimax Posted August 10, 2010 #10 Share Posted August 10, 2010 Carnival is the industry leader. Why would they follow anyone? Simple answer... if the competition has a better program it will draw customers.

tef43 Posted August 10, 2010 #13 Share Posted August 10, 2010 Simple answer... if the competition has a better program it will draw customers. The competition *needs* a better program in order to harvest repeat business. Carnival does not need to bribe its passengers in order for them to return.
