i am still swaying, is this normal?

Recommended Posts

hi all,

has any one still felt at sea, more than 30hours off the ship? this happened to me last year for just a day. i'm onto my 2nd day now. i feel seasick. should i take seasick pills?:mad:

many thanks:eek:

I only feel it in bed, funnily enough, and last time I felt the notorious Celebration vibration for a couple of days. It can't do any harm taking sea sick pills I should think.:):)

Don't worry about it not 'being normal' - it's a well documented condition called 'Mal de Darbarquement' caused by your brain getting used to the motion of the ship and compensating for it. When you get off, your brain is still correcting for the (non-existent) movement. It is fairly common and usually subsides within a few days. I think such as Stugeron would be ok to take but check out the 'contra-indications' (conditions and medication) for which it wouldn't be advised. You can check with a Pharmacist and if it doesn't go away, then try your Docto. My DH has it relatively mildly and it comes and goes. Hope yours clears up quickly.

Mrs Rosebaskets says it's a liquid imbalance in the canals (bones) of the ear. It will settle down in a few days and is quite normal. If it persists for more than a week see your doctor and they'll send you to an Audiologist who throws your head around to restore the balance (sounds gruesome but she informs me it clears it almost instantly)
