dorrance Posted August 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2010 Hello -- Can anyone tell me if Silversea provides their complimentary shuttle service while their ships are docked in Venice? If so, does it deliver passengers to Piazza San Marco? Thanks!
dobiefan Posted August 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2010 Last summer Silversea provided a shuttle boat from the ship to in front of San Marco square. There was a substantial walk from our ship to the shuttle, however, which might have been difficult for elderly people.
57 varieties Posted August 13, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2010 We docked at San Basilio away from the main cruise terminal. It is not far from the Guggenheim Museum. There was a water bus to San Marco provided by Silversea. The stop for this was only 50 yards from the Silversea ship.
Observer Posted August 13, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2010 Congratulations, Silversea, on providing water transport to the center of Venice. This summer, Regent was providing only a bus to Piazza Roma, from which one had to find one's own way to transport to St. Mark's. The Silversea arrangement sounds much more passenger friendly. CruisinGerman Posted August 15, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2010 Dear friends: On our cruise June 5 Silver Spirit, the ship docked at San Basilio. This is NOT the main cruise terminal, but rather a smaller cruise terminal right in the city. We, together with an Oceania ship, were docked there. The cruise port itself provided a shuttle bus from the terminal building to the ship, since the Oceania ship was in front of the terminal but our ship was a bit of a distance away. Silversea DID NOT provide transportation to San Marco, since it was considered that we were already docked inside the city. From San Basilio cruise port, we walked about 10 minutes towards the Guggenheim, and about 20 minutes to San Marco. Kind regards, Gunther and Uta

harbormaster Posted August 16, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 16, 2010 On our cruise last week, the Spirit docked at Marritimo docks. The ship had a complimentary water shuttle to San Marco which ran from the ship on the hour and from the pier on the half hour. Enjoy Venice! WinWin Posted August 17, 2010 #8 Share Posted August 17, 2010 We just returned from the Spirit, and yes, there was complimentary shuttle service! It left every half hour both ways.
