maryandmarge Posted August 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2010 3 of us are cruising on the POA in October flying in on Thursday to spend 2 days at the Mariott. We are not renting a car. If we just walk down to taxi's after we pick up our baggage at airport will there be a big enough taxi for the 3 of us and 3 large suitcases and carry-ons? I know we could take Roberts shuttle but we would rather do this than take a shuttle that would probably take us an hour to get to the hotel. I can't imagine the cost would be much more than if we took the shuttle. Any feedback from CC members would certaininly be appreciated. I've already gotten a wealth of knowledge from this website for a trip that we have been planning for a couple of years.
marym933 Posted August 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2010 We took a cab. Most of the cabs are vans or mini-vans. They can easily accommodate your group and luggage. If I remember right, the cost to the Marriott was $20 to $25 plus tip.
RSF Cruiser Posted August 18, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2010 We always use A8 transportation (http://a8taxi.com/, or 808-227-1111 ). They charge $30 to Waikiki and then $28 for the return to the airport if you need that. It is really easy - call ahead to make reservations, you call them when you have your luggage, and they give you directions on where to meet them - right outside of baggage claim; no wait. They are nice and completely reliable. No extra charge for suitcases. It's just two of us, so I don't know if they charge more for 3 or not. Rare Keith1010 Posted August 18, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2010 As mentioned I would just take a taxi cab sedan or a taxi van. You will be fine. Keith
