Hi everyone,

I keep seeing posts that people say you can walk around the Atlantis for free. What exactly do you get to see without paying to go into the dig? Sorry for being so ignorant, but we are making a list of what we might want to do for our April (spring break) cruise.

thanks!

You can see the marina village, which is a group of overpriced shops as well as some of the Atlantis restaurants, pizza shop and ice cream parlor and you can see the lobbies with their high end shops such as gucci and bvlgari etc.

You can also check out the casino, but no children are allowed to hang out, they are only allowed to walk thru on their way from one end to the other.

Other than that.. there's not much. It's a big overly garish hotel lobby.

I have no idea why anyone would be interested in seeing the inside of a hotel while on vacation.

BTW.. during spring break.. Atlantis will be mobbed.

thank you! I thought I was missing something huge here! We would like to do an Atlantis Vacation in a few years, when both of my kids are big enough to really enjoy all of the waterpark. Perhaps we will wait till then to explore!

Are you able to stroll the property? I thought there were gardens and things that you can walk through? I am still trying to figure something out for next month since my excursion with Blue Lagoon was cancelled.

You can actually only see a small portion of the gardens/grounds for free. The Digs is actually something worth paying to see, which is apprx. $35 pp(adult) and by paying for that, it will include a tour of the whole property.

No, you are not allowed on the outside property without a pass of some sort. The marina Village is located off the property adjacent to the parking lot. You can peruse the shops and use the restaurant at the village, but not those on the property during the daytime.

At nite, security is lax.. but so is the lighting.. so there's really not alot to see in the dark.

It doesn't include the whole property.. you are still not allowed in the water park area and some of the lagoons that are located within it.. without a water park pass.

We were there last October and were able to see part of the Aquarium which was absolutely wonderful. I took my children back in June, and surprise, there is no longer any free part! Everything is roped off!!! I couldn't believe it!

YIKES! We were there in early May and were able to see some of the aquarium for free. We got there as they were feeding the fish and cleaning, so it was kind of neat. Did they close the "free part" all of a sudden?

They did! Everything, even the free part, was closed! You had to pay the $30ish to see even the previous free part.
