luvdale Posted August 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2010 We are thinking about booking a cruise next June, 2011 on the Fantasy. What is the ship like? Do they have a steakhouse like the other Carnival ships? What are the pros and cons of the Fantasy? How was the food?
RBCL Posted August 27, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2010 I was on Sensation, which is basically the same as Fantasy so: As far as I know, they don't have a steakhouse. The food is great and has an excellent layout.

Readyforvacation2010 Posted August 29, 2010 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2010 Just got off Fantasy yesterday with my husband and two kids. Nice ship..hard to believe it is over 20 years old. It is a smaller ship..but that makes it easier to navigate. Had a good time..the kids loved the kids clubs. The food was good..wouldn't say excellent. A lot of the food did not have much taste. Service in dining room was just ok too. They never came back to see how everything was..example...they would bring a baked potato..then come back five minutes later with the sour cream and bacon. Drinks were slow in refilling (especially the complimentary ones..iced tea and lemonade). No steakhouse..but there is some kind of beef dish on the menu each night. We had dinner in the MDR every night and lots to choose from. Definately book the anytime dining..was well worth it and you didn't feel locked into a time where you had to be in the dining room to eat. Only had to wait 10 minutes the last night for a table..otherwise we were seated as soon as we arrived. There were a lot of kids (681 out of 2000 passengers) on this cruise..school had started in the south...keep that in mind in June...there may be more kids. A lot of them stay busy with the kids clubs..but there are still wandering children that parents let roam freely that can be loud. I would rate it an 8 out of 10! lcarney1125 Posted August 29, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2010 Great review! We are interested in booking our next on the Fantasy as it is now less than a 2 hour drive for us!
scchasgal Posted August 29, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2010 Great review! We are interested in booking our next on the Fantasy as it is now less than a 2 hour drive for us! Plus the ship is going into drydock in a couple of months so she will be all fresh again ( fingers crossed they are adding the balconies)
