Will the Oasis change itineraries this week?

Recommended Posts

Just read that Carnival has now changed the itinerary for the Dream from eastern to western due to Tropical Storm Earl. There are TS warnings up for St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Nothing on RCI's website about a change but it makes sense that she would also go western this week. Going to be an interesting week if they make the change. Some just won't understand.

Royal Caribbean has altered the itineraries of both Oasis of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas. Enchantment, which left Baltimore on Thursday, will call on San Juan tomorrow. On Monday, it will visit Samana, Dominican Republic instead of St. Thomas, as originally scheduled. It will stop in Labadee on Tuesday and spend Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at sea as it returns to Baltimore on Saturday.

Oasis will be unable to make its scheduled port calls in St. Thomas on Tuesday and St. Maarten on Wednesday. Instead, the ship will make an extended visit to Nassau on Sunday, spend Monday and Tuesday at sea, and call on Costa Maya on Wednesday and Cozumel on Thursday. It will then spend Friday at sea as it returns to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, as scheduled.

Perhaps RCI should consider updating the weather advisory that is posted on their website. That advisory, dated August 23rd, indicates that they are monitoring the situation carefully but that no itinerary changes are planned "at this time". Obviously a lot of changes have occurred since last Monday, but anyone checking RCI's website wouldn't know that. Not posting such important information as a weather-related itinerary change, in a timely manner is frankly indefensible.

Shrek new, and he was right on the homepage. But then again he didn't hang around for the updates. What's that telling you.:D

Check out the Sticky Thread at the top of the CC Royal Caribbean board.

Kudos to Laura Sterling and to Cruise Critic, but many demerits to RCI which should be the first and best source for this type of information but failed miserably in this instance.
