Cabin numbers

Recommended Posts

Hi We are sailing on Rhapsody in December and we have paid in full over 3 months ago, we have not yet got cabin numbers. Can any one tell me if this is usual. Thanks

We have mostly selected our own cabin, but have sometimes chosen Guarantee. We have found that our guarantee cabin allocation has been mostly been made within days of booking.. Did you use an agent, or book direct? Also, if you have registered on the Royal website you should be able to see your reservation and cabin allocation (if done), irrespectively. .

We booked in March for this Nov and picked cabin,we changed to a Guarantee in May and got a cabin no 5 days later,7 cabins from our old one. We used a Cruise Specialist. I would be ringing someone for peace of mind

Thanks for your answers and it is as I suspected that our T/A is slack. Big Kev we have registered some time ago and that does not show a cabin number. Gozzieboy

Oh, looks like you do have a guarantee cabin, and RCI will have cabin # on site when THEY allocate. Keep looking as time goes on:)... Probably nothing to do with your agent, but delay caused by RCI.. Slack tho, if agent didnt explain to you exactly what guarantee means.

As bakincakes said, maybe a longer wait, but since you can see booking on the website, should be no real worries.. Enjoy your trip ;)

Hi Thankyou for all your answers and I would have thought that once you have paid you would have been allocated a cabin number but it does not work that way evidently. RCI not very helpful telling us to contact our T/A and T/A telling us its RCI who are holding things up. Will not be using T/A again or sailing with RCI. U.S travel agents are best, they get things done and we will be going back there.

With a guarantee cabin, RCCL will assign you a cabin at any time from booking until you board the ship. That's just how guarantees work. The price for guarantees is typically less than booking a specific cabin so for the lower price you give the cruiseline control over what room you get and when it is assigned. Your travel agent should have explained this to you at time of booking.

Also, since you booked with a travel agent, RCCL cannot talk to you about your reservation as it is owned by the travel agent.

It sounds like you definitely have a slacker for a travel agent if they haven't explained all of this to you, especially what it meant to book a guarantee cabin.
