We are taking public transportation to Tarquinia, only 20 minutes by bus. It looks very interesting. We have been to Rome a couple of times and decided to forego it this time.

Thanks..We have been to Rome and will be there again in Nov.2011. That is why we are trying to do something from this port.. We will look further into your suggestion. We will also look on trip advisor for more ideas.

I have been thinking of taking this tour from the ship, would you do it again? Are there places to shop as well? Thanks!!!

We are arriving in Civitavecchia the day before our cruise. Once we have checked into our hotel, we a hopping a bus to Tarquinia. Did this on our last cruise and enjoyed it very much, even though it was damp and cold. There is limited shopping in old town. The newer town down the hill does have shopping.
