Conrycol Posted September 8, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2010 I currently have a CC cabin reserved for our cruise in January. I was thinking about upgrading to the Century Suite. We really enjoy the aft cabins but have read conflicting views about these century suites.(No privacy from the sunset bar, vibrations when docking...) Are they that much better than a CC cabin. Thanks for any thoughts. Steve

tomcruiser1234 Posted September 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2010 These are nice rooms but not a sky suite by any means. You get a butler and the aft cabins are nice. I would recomend you only do suite GTY which wiil get you no less than a Celebrity suite for less money. Our parents got there first suite this way
robtulipe Posted September 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2010 This is the view of a Century Suite balcony from the Sunset Bar area. The balcony, which is 35 sq.ft., is smaller than a regular CC balcony, which are 42 sq.ft. That is us on our deck 8 FV balcony below.

yayvacation! Posted September 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 10, 2010 I have to disagree with PP who said that the balcony is smaller on the century suite then the CC, We had a century suite 2 years ago on our first cruise and the balcony was enormous! It was at least 2x as deep as what that picture shows. We had a dining table and 2 chairs, a side table and 2 full loungers and we still had a ton of space. As far as privacy, we thought it was absolutely fine as 1/2 the balcony is covered and the other 1/2 exposed to the aft bar. We also didn't notice much in the way of vibration (a little but not enough to bother either of us). I loved that suite, I'd say book it!

What you are describing sounds like the Vista deck 9 Family Veranda balcony we had which is shown below. According to X that FV's balcony was 80 sq.ft. in area. Another couple from our roll call was in the Century Suite balcony above us, which was much smaller, less than half the size of our balcony and only had a table and two chairs. Also I thought it was fully exposed to the Sunset Bar deck. Our FV balcony was partially covered. If you look at the Century cabins on X web site you can see a shot of a Century Suite. I erred in my post above saying we had a deck 8 FV.
