I wish I had seen this before my family and I went to Hawaii this past winter:

I'd also add that the Mauna Loa Nut Factory has a visitors center and tours - I don't recall if the tours are free, and the shopping in the visitor's center certaintly isn't(!) but it's the only place I know of where you can get Macadamia Nut Hershey's Kisses!

Yes, the tour is free, but it isn't much of a tour. You just walk along a short elevated walkway where you can you look through windows down at the machinery. No guide. At least that's all we got. :(
