What Do They Do When they Dry Dock A Ship?

A typical dry dock is a two weeks and happens about every three years, sooner if there's a pressing need.

During a routine dry dock work or stained carpeting and upholstery is replaced, some features, like bow to stern WIFI, might be added.

To do the major changes, like adding the Evolutions of Fun upgrades, takes more time... a month or longer.

do you know, as they dry dock them, have they been adding waterworks to the ships.

you actually commented in a thread about valor going into dry dock this january. we are going to be on valor next summer and that would be icing on the cake.

The Conquest Class ships, of which Valor is one, aren't getting waterworks parks. Those are on the Fantasy Class, the Splendor and the Dream...

The purpose of drydocking is to perform the required inspections of hull and machinery. Any other stuff done is just gravy, but it makes much sense to do upgrades while the ship is out of service for mandatory inspection and maintenance work.

In 2009 my husband and I picked a cruise ship/itinerary and based our WEDDING DAY on it....then found out later, after all of our planning (deposits included) that our ship had been dry docked  !! Luckily there was another itinerary available that suited our schedule and, although it wasnt what we planned, we still had a FABULOUS honeymoon.

Talk about icing on the CAKE :D Will cross my fingers yours doesnt get docked!!
