LAX question

We will need to spend one night near LAX before flying out to Mexico the next day. Any suggestions about a Hotel? We were looking at the Embassy Suites LAX North (a good deal for a family of 5), but was wondering if the LAX South hotels in El Segundo are in a better neighborhood.

Not all that much difference... That Embassy Suites is in an area with many hotels, car rental facilities, etc. If you're getting a good deal there I wouldn't worry about switching.

The El Segundo property backs up to a residential area and overlooks LAX. El Segundo is one of the safest cities in Los Angeles. I've never been in the other Embassey Suites but the ES hotel is nice.

 

There are a few restaurants within a couple of blocks walk. Again, very safe neighborhoods to walk in. On Imperial Highway which runs directly into the ocean (~ 1.5 miles).
